Hotel Okura will offer tatami mats and open-air baths to attract local and Southeast Asian customers interested in Japanese culture. Okura focuses on overseas expansion and plans to raise its domestic and international hotels to 150 by 2030. Okura's new hotels in Thailand will be their most expensive offerings. Rates for the Okura Resort Chiang Mai will start at approximately 60,000 yen per night, while the Okura Prestige Sukhumvit Bangkok Hotel & Spa will begin at around 40,000 yen.

In Chiang Mai, the rooms will range from 40 to 60 square meters, excluding suites, with around 220 rooms planned. In addition to rooms featuring tatami mats and open-air baths, a Japanese restaurant will showcase local ingredients. The suites at Prestige Sukhumvit will also include Japanese-style rooms.

Both hotels are owned by Asset World Corporation, a Thai real estate company, and managed by Okura. Okura operates four facilities in Thailand. As of December 2024, it launched a boat service for three-hour cruises along the Chao Phraya River, with dining options available.

By January 2025, Okura will run 27 facilities internationally. The expansion will focus on five key regions: Thailand, Vietnam, and Taiwan. Moreover, efforts will be made to increase awareness and attract tourists to Japan.
