In November, Marriott Launched its 100th Affordable Mid-range Hotel in Osaka

On November 18, Marriott International, headquartered in the US, opened its 100th hotel in Osaka. Room rates are expected to be between 15,000 and 16,000 yen per night. This initiative aims to cater to the influx of inbound tourists (foreign visitors to Japan), particularly in light of the upcoming EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. Marriott plans to enhance its hotel portfolio in Japan by targeting the mid-to-low price segment, offering accessible accommodations designed for both business travelers and cost-conscious leisure guests.

The newly opened Four Points Flex by Sheraton is designed to attract the mid-to-low price segment of the Marriott brand. Fourteen hotels currently managed by a subsidiary of Unizo Holdings—recently acquired by the US investment firm KKR—will be renovated and operated by Marriott. These locations are anticipated to launch soon in Morioka, Hakata, and other cities, with an additional two planned for Tokyo around 2025.

At the day's opening ceremony, Marriott President and CEO Anthony Capuano remarked, "In addition to domestic travel, we are experiencing strong demand for budget-friendly hotels from inbound tourists from the United States and China."
