A Story of Love, Hope, and Health — A Turkish-Japanese Couple’s Olive Oil Journey from Chiba

In the quiet city of Yachiyo, Chiba, a Turkish man named Ozgur Adiyaman and his Japanese wife are turning a deeply personal challenge into a story of hope and connection. What began as a journey of love between Istanbul and Japan took an unexpected turn when illness struck soon after their move. Yet, through hardship, they discovered the healing power of nature — and the importance of what we put into our bodies every day.

Now, inspired by his wife’s recovery, Ozgur is introducing to Japan a precious gift from his homeland: authentic, award-winning Turkish olive oil, long known as “the gold that protects life.” With this heartfelt crowdfunding project, the couple hopes to share health, gratitude, and the warmth of Türkiye with people across Japan — one drop of olive oil at a time.

Multinational couple launching a crowdfunding challenge from Chiba, Japan!
Hello, my name is Ozgur Adiyaman.

Before I share the purpose of this crowdfunding project, I would like to tell you a little about myself.

In 2020, at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, I met my future wife when she visited Istanbul, Türkiye. We quickly connected, began living together in Türkiye, and later decided to start a new life in Japan with our beloved cat, Maru. Today, we live in Yachiyo City, Chiba Prefecture.

Shortly after moving to Japan, my wife was diagnosed with a serious illness and we had to focus entirely on her treatment. Due to this sudden news, for more than half a year our days were devoted solely to her recovery. During this difficult time, Maru and I stayed by her side and supported her.

Through this experience, we deeply realized the preciousness of health. Of course, medical treatment is essential, but we came to understand that what we eat every day also has the power to protect and recover our body.

That is why I strongly wish to share with the people of Japan the olive oil that has been cherished for generations in my homeland, Türkiye.

Olive oil is not just a seasoning. In Türkiye, it is known as the “gold that protects life” and has long been treasured as a source of health.

Inspired by my wife’s illness, I came to appreciate the true value of natural and wholesome food. And now, I want to deliver this gift to Japan—a country I consider my second home—to families and loved ones who value health and well-being.

We envisioned this as a thoughtful year-end gift for friends and colleagues, or as a special reward for yourself after a year of hard work.
