ASKA Pharmaceutical Medical will Release a Kit in July that Can Test for Stress based on Hormone Levels Accumulated in Hair and Nails
It is easier to perform than blood or saliva test kits and can measure chronic conditions. The group aims to utilize its strength in hormone testing technology and adapt it for use in corporate welfare programs.
It will go on sale July 24 on the e-commerce site. The price is 6,480 yen per inspection kit. When stressed, cortisol is released into the bloodstream and other organs and accumulates in the hair and nails. Prolonged cortisol secretion leads to chronic stress, which is believed to lead to insomnia, weakened immunity, and other physical and mental disorders.
The kit involves collecting about ten hairs over 3 cm long or thumbnails of both hands stretched for a week and mailing them to the company. The results will be emailed to the designated address in two to three weeks. With that person's consent, it can be delivered to a company, such as an industrial physician.
For hair, measure the average of the last three months; for nails, measure the condition of the nails a few months ago. The four levels of chronic stress are shown, such as where to consult and what to do about them.
