Basha Coffee Expands to Japan, Opening Its First Store in Ginza Next Year
V3 Gourmet, headquartered in Singapore and the owner of TWG Tea, will introduce its coffee brand, Basha Coffee, in Japan beginning in 2025. The company sees an opportunity to expand its presence in Japan, as the brand appeals to Japanese tourists.
The first Basha Coffee store is slated to open in Ginza, Tokyo, in the first half of 2025. This location intends to combine retail with food and beverage services. It will feature over 200 unique coffee varieties that highlight a diverse range of aromas and flavors. The store will also provide high-end packaging aimed at the gift market.
To launch new stores, a franchise agreement will be formed with Tokyu Gourmet Front, a subsidiary of Tokyu. Tokyu Gourmet Front is already providing TWG Tea in Japan.
V3 Gourmet is expanding the global footprint of TWG Tea and Basha Coffee. TWG Tea has 79 locations in 18 countries, while Basha Coffee boasts 27 outlets across 11 nations. The company projects 2023 sales of approximately 240 million Singapore dollars (around 26 billion yen).
Basha Coffee highlights "1910" on its logo, signifying the year the Dar El Bacha Palace was built in Marrakech, Morocco. In 2019, V3 Gourmet rejuvenated the famous coffee shop inside the palace and has begun extending its locations across different areas under the Bacha Coffee brand.
